Aaron Meyer is a classically trained violinist who has joined with guitarist Tim Ellis and several other band members (piano, bass, percussion, drum set, Irish flute/whistle) to create instrumental music that is a blending of times, cultures, and genres.
Along with the classical violin is the electric guitar. Mixed in with the hand drums is the contemporary drum set. As Aaron once told his audience at a Christmas holiday concert, "This is kind of like Johann Sebastian Bach meets Elvis."
Aaron Meyer is known as a "concert rock violinist." He has 10 albums, the most recent one created in collaboration with Oregon Symphony pops conductor Jeff Tizek and 28 members of the Oregon Symphony Orchestra.
Emerald Shores is on his album, The Journey, Not the Destination. (2008) You can see a video
of the band playing this piece on his website, www.aaronmeyer.com.
